Dental Implants
What Are Dental Implants?
We often see patients come in with a variety of oral health problems. When a tooth is badly decayed, it may need to be extracted. While we do try and avoid tooth extractions if possible, there are many instances when it is the only solution to prevent pain, inflammation, and further infection. If the tooth is extracted, it will leave behind a large hole where the tooth once was. We provide multiple options to help our patients with extracted teeth. Dental bridges are often used, along with partial dentures. The best method to replace missing teeth is to use dental implants.
Dental implants are metal posts or frames that are inserted into the jawbone beneath the gums. The implant uses a titanium screw to hold the new tooth in place. Once the titanium screw has bonded with the jaw bone, a replacement tooth is attached to it.
Dental implants are the ideal solution if you want to complete your smile without additional work to the rest of the mouth.

How do Dental Implants Work?
Malan Heights Dental specializes in providing dental implants. We recommend dental implants because they are a permanent solution to a smile with missing teeth. Implants fuse to the jawbone, allowing them to provide stable support for an artificial tooth. An implant will not shift or slip in your mouth. Dental implants can boost your confidence as you will have a complete smile once again.
Why Dental Implants?
If you want a natural looking smile once again, dental implants are the best solution. Ordinary bridges and dentures are not as comfortable and need to be adjusted or replaced annually. Dental implants do not require adjacent teeth to be prepared to hold a crown to provide stability for a crown for the extracted tooth.
Am I a Candidate for Dental Implants?
For you to be deemed a candidate for dental implants, we will examine your teeth and gums. Your teeth and gums must be healthy enough to support the implant. For the implant to be successful, you must focus on maintaining a healthy routine for your teeth and gums. Daily brushing and flossing are effective ways to focus on long-term dental implants.
